The platysma flap is an under appreciated flap for soft tissue reconstruction in the oral region. Besides being conveniently located in the area adjacent to the defect the flap gives good colour match and has a high success rate in selected cases. We report our experience with the use of this flap in combination with the temporalis muscle flap to reconstruct the full thickness cheek defect in one patient.
